Get Inspired About Something.

It’s a fact that people are happiest when they are producing something. Do some activity that you have always wanted to do. Live a life full of inspired activities.

What is it that you really love to do? What are you passionate about?. Taking a nice walk in the park, playing sports, reading books, or listening to some soothing music.

5. Make Some Time For Yourself.

I mean it.

Listen to soothing music. Soak in a nice warm bath. Ask one of your close friends to massage you. Take a break from your stressful workload and spend the day just goofing around. In other words, have fun.

6. Eat Healthy and Exercise Regularly.

Avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol.

In that case, it will not be necessary for you to chase after medals or trophies at tournaments, simply practicing in that sportive manner at the school or dojo will be enough for you to enhance your training.

Pros

For all martial artists, sportive versions of any martial style have their benefits. As a Jiu-jitsu teacher, I can tell you that the sport of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is an excellent instructional tool for beginners because it teaches them the importance of position and places a value on each movement. It will also promote safe daily practice that allows you to train more and get better faster. Let?s face it, you can?t go 100% all of the time, so sport (sportive practice) is a nice happy medium between going nuts and unrealistic cooperative training.

Cons

The biggest problem with sport martial arts is that quite often, people who do them feel as if they are a complete martial artist and ?street ready?.

Pulteney Bridge closure – debate still rages on

0 Comments | Bath Chronicle, The, Sep 2, 2010

The justifiable concerns expressed by residents living in the Great Pulteney Street area about their bridge being closed to traffic could be met by continuing to run buses as far as Laura Place where they would turn back to St Mary’s roundabout. This would not only enable the existing bus stops to be retained but would increase the passing trade for shopkeepers in Argyle Street and Pulteney Bridge.

The fiasco of ‘bendy’ buses meeting each other in Edward Street could be avoided by routing them in to Great Pulteney Street opposite the Holburne Museum and out of Great Pulteney Street via Edward Street.

No doubt some residents wish to see all buses banned from Edward Street. It is worth noting that the B&NES; website lists the cabinet member for Development and Major Projects, Councillor Gazzard as a resident of Edward Street.

B PEARSON Bathwick Hill, Bath I am horrified to learn that there are moves to close Pulteney Bridge to buses and taxis.

The proposal to close the bridge to traffic has nothing whatsoever to do with possible damage to the bridge as the integrity of the bridge is not in doubt. It is apparently to do with the aesthetic appearance of the bridge which it is thought is harmed by the very limited traffic now using the bridge. Seemingly no thought has been given to the increased congestion such a closure would have on Bathwick and Great Pulteney streets which are already frequently in gridlock.

Nor is any consideration being given to the many elderly and disabled citizens whose lives will be made much more difficult by a closure.

Their very serious concerns must outweigh the dubious contention that to use the bridge for the purpose for which it was built is somehow aesthetically displeasing.

DAVID WYNNE-GRIFFITHS Kingsdown, Corsham Judging by the amount of space given to the objectors of the closure of Pulteney Bridge it would be all too easy to draw the conclusion that this was not a popular proposal but nothing could be further from the truth. Virtually all the shopkeepers on the bridge support its closure and at least 280 people, mainly residents living nearby, signed the petition to have the bridge closed.

Why is this view not given more weight? As a long-term resident who has had to live with the blight of heavy buses and coaches charging down Great Pulteney Street in order to cross the bridge the closure cannot come too soon. Add to this the daily “near misses” between pedestrians and vehicles and cars cutting straight across the junction with Grove Street the case for closure becomes clear cut and unambiguous. It is all too easy for those who do not live on the main through road to raise objections based on the small, but admitted, inconvenience that will be caused to those few using the buses.

Pulteney Bridge is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture which must not be allowed to deteriorate further …it is one of the most iconic structures in the city.

DAVID GREENWOOD Great Pulteney Street, Bath Re; the Pulteney Bridge closure in the name of long distance walking. On behalf of all elderly pensioners and those with limited mobility and incomes, and non-car owners, may I, through your columns, protest at the elimination of all direct buses from Great Pulteney Street to the railway station and bus station (and thence to the RUH), as from September 5? The cost of the average taxi trip as an alternative, as I am advised, will increase by around Pounds 2 a trip.

Whatever Councillor Gerrish decides on the closure, the buses will cease. Why is it that Councillors Gazzard and Webber (or for that matter the Pulteney Estates Residents Association) have not seen fit to properly represent their elderly constituents who make up a large proportion local population in the Abbey Ward? In my estimation this is totally shameless behaviour.

As the bus companies were formally advised of the closure on July 1 some five weeks before public consultation was begun, I query whether this is not a clear case of manipulation of the system. Or is it just plain simple maladministration? Whatever, I think that the whole business is directed at the visitors rather than council tax paying voters and residents.

ELIZABETH M EARP Great Pulteney Street Bath May I, through your columns, warn pensioners in the Bathwick area that in future, if they go by taxi to collect their pension they must budget carefully for the fare? My regular Pounds 3.20 will become Pounds 5.60 – nearly double and anyone unfortunate enough to need a taxi both ways will have to pay nearly Pounds 12.

The longer journey avoiding Pulteney Bridge will account for the increase

Half bottle of wine

Half bottle of wine recommended also paired beautifully. Raspberry tart was so fresh and each berry was a sweet story in itself.

The meal went on for a few hours. We were wonderfully full at the end but not overstuffed. By that time the restaurant completely filled up. Reservations are therefore recommended. Decor is pleasant, reminiscent of the original Les Halles market in Paris. I would go to Les Halles as often as my budget would allow!

Perhaps the most important

Published on September 3rd, 2010no comments

Perhaps the most important part of decorating your bedroom is getting the right accessories for the style of bedroom that your are going for. Getting this one detail right can make or break your new bedroom design and every style has accessories that will help make it shine. Here?s some tips on accessories you might want to include in your bedroom interior design.

Rustic Decor

For that rustic look that goes with a country, log cabin or lodge style decor make sure to add in a variety of wooden bowls and baskets together with old snowshoes and other camp gear. You might even try certain vintage lodge style blankets in traditional black and red plaid or stripes to add some punch to your bedroom. If you are really brave, you might add some taxidermy mounts which will certainly add a unique look to your bedroom.

Tropical Decor

For tropical or safari style rooms you want to be sure to add in lots of jungle animal prints as well as silk or real plants.

Another benefit of having caller

Published on September 3rd, 2010no comments

Another benefit of having caller ID is to have a record of any telemarketers who call your phone number when you are on the Do Not Call List. These organizations that make these illegal calls face stiff federal fines over $10,000.00.

Phones are something we rarely think about cleaning and they are full of germs. It is wise to clean them with antiseptic wipes often. The oil on our hands trap the germs on the phone where water will not clean them effectively. You also don’t want a water soaked cloth allowing water into this electrical device. Antigerm wipes offer the best method.

If you are assisting your relative with long distance care and they have a concerned neighbor, you can buy a device that lights up and or rings outside whenever their phone rings inside. A ringing or blinking phone device that goes unanswered would send the neighbors over to check on their safety. Although I recommend a life saving notification product, this will offer an economical safety alert. However, you need to be certain only trusted individuals can see or hear this device.

You will also want to sign up for both the state and federal Do Not Call List to avoid telemarketing calls.

No man or

Published on September 3rd, 2010no comments

No man or woman should be denied education, employment, or a small business loan because of his or her race?and there are plenty of laws on the books to ensure those equal opportunities.

Given the many black Americans who have achieved positions of prominence and distinction?Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas among them?it?s a little far-fetched to claim that the government is apathetic toward blacks.

The fact is that, when any of us are hit with tragedy, we cannot expect the government to be our savior. It?s up to us as individuals to rise above the rubble and reclaim what disaster stole from us. It may not be pleasant; it may not be the greatest ride?but it?s what we do as Americans.

At this point, though,

Published on September 3rd, 2010no comments

At this point, though, historians become vague. It seems that the French liked it well enough, but they weren’t bowled over. Of course, this was also a period in culinary history when the Royal Court was-literally-grappling with the notion of using silverware at dinnertime, so they probably can’t be faulted for being less than enthusiastic.

Also, as historian Brandon Case, of King’s College in Pennsylvania, writes, “other than [King] Francis I, Caterina had not a friend.” And elsewhere he writes that the Royal Court and French people at-large, referred to her as “the Italian woman.”

So when spinach began to appear on the menus at the Royal Chateau Fontainebleau, the diners began to refer to it, with some contempt, as being “like that Florentine.” Yet over time, “alla Fiorentina” seemed to change from the depreciative to the complimentary “Florentine-style.” History remains weak about whether Florentines in general ever had a strong appetite for spinach.

Today, when we go to a restaurant and order something “alla Fiorentina,” we expect that it will be served on a bed of spinach, or stuffed with spinach.
